On Saturday morning the rain finally stopped and we took a quick drive to Occoquan. This historic town is filled with little shops, galleries and a great waterfront. Another great Northern Virginia gem found!
My first Mother’s Day couldn’t be more special. We visited Claire’s cousins in Charlotte, North Carolina. Had a delicious brunch, spent a few hours playing in the park, went antique shopping and ended with a barbecue at home. Watching these 3 little girls together was the biggest treat. Hope your Mother’s Day was equally special.
One of many takes… These little girls tried their best to escape : )

Sitting up all on her own now
Looking forward to many more get-togethers.
Farmers market runs and long walks in the park. Loving this time of year!

We feel very lucky to live in a state where we are a driving distance from some extraordinary sights. They say, Virginia is for Lovers, but we think it’s also for explorers
On Saturday, we took a little day trip to George Washington’s Mount Vernon.
Tulips in bloom
Lilacs! Also known as the best smell in the world. That’s a fact
Claire at seven and a half months
She’s got two teeth!
My little big girl
Claire loved it too
She’s always moving
The view of the Potomac River
Loving the greenery
Watching the whiskey being made
